ANNUAL CALCUTTA TOURNAMENT

It’s Calcutta time!  O

ur highly anticipated annual Calcutta tournament is here and it should be a great weekend.  All the responses have been tallied, and we’ll be having 6 tables on Friday night at Tin Tin…after dinner, the auction will begin.

Please note the following things for this weekend:
 Cost for entry to this tournament is $160.00 which includes the following –

     –  Auction night dinner at Tin Tin Seafood Harbour Restaurant (chinese meal)
     –  Golf at the Surrey golf course on Sunday
     –  Post game steak / Salmon buffet dinner at the Surrey golf course clubhouse

If you are bringing a guest to dinner on Friday night, the cost is $55 per person.  We will be collecting the entry fee (plus guest fee if applicable) on Friday.  For those not able to attend on Friday night, Gene Wong will be at Surrey GC early on Sunday and you can pay your entry at that time.
Reminder to all members participating in the Calcutta tournament – you need to bring extra cash to the Friday night dinner as you’ll be expected to pay your ownership share to the ‘owner’ of your team, and possibly join a syndicate to bid on a team!

Attached are the assigned teams and the tee time sheet for Sunday.  You’ll notice that you will be playing with one other member of your team – the other two are from a different team.

While we are using the Stableford system of scoring for the Calcutta, the rules for this tournament remain the same as previous years:

• Everyone must putt out – NO gimmes!
• Maximum score per hole is Double Par + 1; if you reach that score, you can pick up your ball and record that score (in the Stableford system, that is a Minus 2 in all cases).
• Other than hazards that are marked with red or yellow stakes, if you lose your ball in the fairway or trees, etc., you can re-hit from your previous spot, or drop on the edge of the fairway and add 2 strokes.  
• Hand your score card in to Dave Chao when done, all scoring will be calculated automatically for you
