Hope you are enjoying your summer so far… The time has gone by quickly as it is already Calcutta time! O
ur highly anticipated annual Calcutta tournament is back – and coming up on August 9th. Since there are a few new members that have joined this season, please read the attached flyer for the information regarding this tournament which is only a couple weeks away. It provides details on how the teams are formed and the scoring system.
Please note that the Calcutta event is just another special event that happens within a regular tournament, so you may choose not to take part in the Calcutta and play it as any other regular tournament on the schedule, just let us know when you sign up. Note that if you take part in the Calcutta, you are obligated to buy back minimum 5% of the winning bid of your team (team owners may let you buy more – e.g. 10%).
There will be an auction night dinner to be held on the Friday prior to the tournament (Aug 7th). All regular VCGC members are welcome to be part of the auction process and join in for the auction dinner (even if you’re not playing the tournament) – let us know if you’re planning to come to the dinner only, it’s free for all regular members, and $55/guest.
The venue for this tournament is Surrey Golf Course again this year.
Cost for entry to this tournament is $160.00 which includes the following:
– Auction night dinner at Tin Tin Seafood Harbour Restaurant (chinese meal)
– Golf at the Surrey golf course on Sunday
– Post game steak / Salmon buffet dinner at the Surrey golf course clubhouse
After reading the flyer, if you have any questions on the format, feel free to reply with questions. For now, we are looking for those that will be signing up for the tournament – please see the attached list and check if your name is there. If not, and you wish to play, reply back on whether you are attending:
- The Friday Night Dinner; and
- Participating in the Calcutta Tournament or (Regular tournament only)
